Why doesn't this surprise me?

It doesn't surprise me -- still pisses me off, however. This is the same newspaper I read growing up in Wisconsin and it's also where I started my journalism career. Do newspapers employ copy editors anymore? I don't think so.

Whether it's an obituary or a headline or a news story, there is no reason for errors like this. Trouble is, I doubt readers care anymore. Except for the family of this gentleman in the obituary and the thousands of others who have to put up with similar errors of stupidity.
