Back when I was a newspaper reporter, the letters "cq" were usually put next to a name to tell the copy editor to signify the name or word was spelled or used correctly. I'm glad to see the term is still around. Just too bad there doesn't seem to be copy editors anymore who check (and remove) these things. Sorry about that, Zack Pohl.

Downward Slide...
I happened upon this today regarding the Providence Journal and the downward slide of newspapers. Sad, but true -- this is a blog worth reading from the Columbia Journalism Review.
