Yeah, I said I wouldn't continue to harp on the news media -- so I won't. I'll let Rem Rieder from USA Today do it. This is an excellent column and here's the link to it.

Those who know me will continue to say it's just because I'm a grammar bitch. Maybe so -- but I keep seeing things like the clip below and it's disturbing. I truly think it's a remnant of "being the first with the scoop" that all journalists are familiar with -- it was like this when I worked in a newsroom and I'm sure things haven't changed.

Except that what I wrote wasn't published instantly online - it came off a press on paper. And it was read by at least two editors before it was published -- my city editor and a copy editor.

The race to be first today results in embarrassing posts like this. Sigh.
